TheJunior Regulatory Compliance Specialistreports directly to the Senior Label Development & Regulatory Compliance Specialist and TS Manager.
TheJunior Regulatory Compliance Specialistis responsible for researching, monitoring, maintaining and updating international and domestic food labeling and domestic food labeling and business-related statutory and regulatory requirements of the section, the department and the organization including documentation. Function as an objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns raised by the organization in relation to food labeling. The position also acts as Qualified Person in Industry Regulatory Affairs (QPIRA) for any communication and transaction with Philippine Food and Drug Administration and/or regulatory personnel for any internal statutory and/or regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- Embodying strong research skills to any platform media and/or materials, perform research on any food labeling standards, specifications and implementations that will serve as reference and/or guidance to the business and/or food labeling system planning, assessment or evaluation, documentation and implementation.
- Having a strong reading comprehension and interpretation skills of food laws, food journals, regulatory articles and related literature, create regulatory research reports and references containing correct and accurate food labeling regulatory standards, specifications and implementation summaries together with any impact assessment to any applicable functions. Ensure to have a proper citation for verification.
- Aware on the regulatory compliance procedures on effective and systematic monitoring of regulatory references and implementations, regularly monitor all regulatory e-mail subscriptions, official statutory and regulatory websites and relevant technical publications regarding food labeling.
- Effective in performing regulatory monitoring and updating and having awareness on the impact of any new and/or updated regulatory information, create and/or update documentation of food labeling standards, specifications and procedures enduring correct and accurate information references of any regulatory compliance implementations. Coordinate with Senior Label Development & Regulatory Compliance Specialist for planning of implementation for any major food labeling mandatory requirements.
- Having the knowledge on applicable regulatory requirements, document references and established label development and regulatory compliance standards, specifications and/or procedures, review different label formats ensuring compliance. Label formats includes label compre, HAPA layouts, customized label layout, data proof and label artworks for clients.
- Knowledgeable with the Philippine Food and Drug Administration procedure and requirements for Certificate of Product Registration and other requested certificates; communicate and coordinate document requirements and formats in the registration processing of all products whether new and/or for amendment and renewal.
- Knowledgeable on export requirements and the procedure on generating export compliance documents, create and/or review export product ingredients declaration documents with percentage composition in reference to any intended and/or finished goods processed labels.
- Knowledgeable on the labeling regulatory and statutory requirements of different export countries and/or market destinations and product information process owners, review and update label reference guides ensuring compliance and/or on-time update prior usage into any label development and/or label customization.
- Knowledgeable on export requirements and the procedure on generating export compliance documents. Create and/or review export product ingredients declaration documents with percentage composition in reference to any intended and/or finished goods processed labels.
- Having strong leadership skills, lead the Regulatory Compliance Team in reference to the requirements of the business, the section and the food safety team. Review regulatory research performed by team members and perform verification if necessary.
- Having the awareness on the requirements of the established Food Safety Management System and applicable regulatory, statutory, institutional and/or organizational standards, implement monitoring and verification activities for any established food labeling regulatory compliance standards, specifications and procedures. These includes review of label references, food safety regulatory monitory, label compliance review and procedure verification, etc. Use the acquired verification results as inputs in the review and updating of the quality and food safety processes.
- Equipped with knowledge on different Quality Tools and understanding of performance measures and methods of analysis, evaluate effectiveness of the food labeling regulatory compliance standards, specifications, procedures and/or process implementation. Generateperformance reports in reference to the defined frequency and format.
- Having the experience in designing and conducting training and/or transferring of knowledge and technical-know-how, plan and implement effective hand-shake activities, seminars and/or training for any established food labeling regulatory compliance standards, specifications and/or procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry or any related degree.
- Excellent communication skills; comprehension skills in interpreting regulatory articles and advisories, solid analytical and decision making skills and attention to details.
- Analytical, self-motivated and can interact with people in all levels of the organization and statutory and regulatory agencies; likes to read food science journals and articles and resourceful when it comes to performing research and seeking literature references.
- Reliable professional who is not afraid to speak his/her mind and stand by his/her decisions; with integrity and professional ethics.
