Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Junior Planning Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity to support the planning and project controls function across building construction, maintenance, and repair projects. Working under the supervision of the Senior Planning Engineer and the Head of Construction, this role focuses on schedule development, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with site teams, internal departments, and management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing baseline & updated project schedules using Primavera P6 & MS Project
  • Support the development of activity sequences, logic links & WBS structures
  • Maintain activity coding, calendars and work breakdown structures (WBS) under senior guidance
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement & construction site teams to gather planning inputs
  • Help maintain schedule updates, progress data & forecasting information
  • Prepares initial baseline project schedules for bidding purpose.
  • Collect site progress information & update schedules
  • Assist in preparing weekly & monthly progress reports, narratives, charts & dashboards
  • Track key milestones, deliverables & resource usage
  • Support variance analysis & early-warning reporting
  • Assist in compiling data for Time Impact Analysis & Extension of Time (EOT) submissions
  • Maintain logs of delays, changes & site events
  • Support Senior Planning Engineer in preparing delay narratives & supporting documentation
  • Assist in developing resource-loaded schedules & manpower forecasts
  • Coordinate with cost control teams to align schedule updates with budget & cost performance
  • Support the preparation of productivity tracking sheets & resource utilization reports
  • Participate in coordination meetings & record planning-related actions
  • Review subcontractor schedules for completeness & escalate issues to senior staff
  • Support BIDS & Tender activities by preparing preliminary schedules & planning inputs
  • Contribute to cost control alignment by providing schedule-related data

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction planning or project controls
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 & MS Project (training or certification preferred)
  • Understanding of construction processes & project workflows
  • Strong analytical, organizational & communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with less supervision
  • Familiarity with reporting tools & MS Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
