Operational reporting to Senior System Developer; administrative accountability according to departmental structure.
Primary Responsibilities
The Junior Developer 4D Database / 4D Server supports the maintenance, development, and optimization of the company's 4D-based system landscape. The role includes server administration, database development, and technical support for internal users and client systems.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure stable operation of the 4D server environment
- Perform maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Support further development of the 4D database (4D language, structures, forms, business logic)
- Analyze system errors and implement sustainable fixes
- Provide technical support (1st2nd level) for internal users and clients, including troubleshooting and training
- Contribute to new modules, automation processes, APIs, and integration projects
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with business units to implement functional requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal IT, security, and quality standards
Qualifications
Profile
- Completed technical training or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Experience with the 4D database environment or strong willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of database concepts and programming logic
- Strong interest in development, debugging, and continuous system improvement
- Structured, reliable work style with high sense of responsibility
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in supporting users
Required Skills
- Good programming knowledge (e.g., 4D, SQL, JavaScript or similar)
- Understanding of client/server architectures
- Analytical thinking and problemsolving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
- Ability to communicate technical topics clearly
