Junior Data Scientist
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing the business, documenting the organizational processes, and evaluating the business models
- Research best practices and support developing solutions and recommendations using business analysis
- Perform routine business analysis using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and data mining from internal and external sources to answer the industry and business questions
- Interpret business needs of customers and translate them into the application and operational requirement with the help of strong analytical and product management/knowledge skills
- May assist in developing or implementing systems to capture business operation
- Employ sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods to prepare data for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling
- Produce written and oral documentation/presentation to support the data analysis and report on findings to present to the higher management, if necessary
- Develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met
- Identify and recommend new ways to create value and develop action plans to measure their impact
- Create new processes, optimize, and standardize existing ones
- Other tasks that may be assigned
Job Requirements
- Ability to code, specifically with either Python or SQL is required
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications
- Proficient in MS Excel including pivot tables, lookup, macros and knowledge of MS Office, MS Access, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
- Logical, analytical, critical thinker, and capable of maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent command of the English Language is a must, both written and verbal
- Willingness to adapt to changing business
- Experience with CRM software (NetSuite) is a plus
- Can work in high pressure environment with high sense of responsibility
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- Willingness and ability to work on a night schedule and hybrid work set-up on Silver City, Pasig
