Job Description

Role Summary:

The Junior Category Buyer is responsible for supporting the end-to-end sourcing process, contract management, and supplier engagement activities for assigned procurement categories. The role ensures effective execution of procurement events via SAP Ariba, supports strategic supplier evaluations, and assists in contract routing and administration. The Junior Category Buyer also provides administrative support to the Procurement Group and the VP of Global Procurement, and supports Senior Category Managers on small-ticket sourcing and administrative requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Sourcing via SAP Ariba
  • launch and edit events
  • schedule pre-bid meeting and site inspection with suppliers
  • download and check complete submissions in Ariba
  • prepare comparative statements for Category Manager's review.
  • Contract Management
  • Drafting of execution contract, liaise on with legal for their review and comments.
  • Liaise on with back-office team for routing contracts for signatures.
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Manage supplier Accreditation, review the submitted documents and prepare evaluation reports for Category Manager's review.
  • Arrange Quarterly Business Review meetings
  • Travel Administration for the Procurement Group
  • Administrative Management for the VP Global Procurement

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge on:
  • Negotiation
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Use of MS Office applications
  • Use of E-Procurement Systems
  • Ideally SAP ARIBA and SAP ECC (MM)
  • Project Management
  • Educational Attainment:
  • At least a Bachelor's/ College Degree, preferably under Engineering/ Technical Course
  • Work Experience
  • 1-2 years experience in Procurement preferably in the port/ FMCG (non-food)/ technology industry
