Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Junior Bookkeeper will support the business services team in delivering accurate and timely bookkeeping services for assigned client portfolios. The role is responsible for performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, accounts payable and receivable processing, payroll administration, reconciliations, activity statement preparation, and client correspondence using cloud accounting systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of bookkeeping principles, proficiency in Xero, and the ability to manage multiple client deadlines while providing high-quality service.

Work Setup:

  • Hybrid
  • Work onsite for the first 2 weeks
  • Required onsite during monthly and quarterly team meetings and when required by the manager/client.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Friday - 7:00AM - 4:00PM

Office Assignment:

  • MAKATI OFFICE: 22F Tower 1, One Ayala Corporate Center, Ayala Ave., Makati City

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertaking daily tasks in cloud accounting system (Xero etc)
  • Sending client expense invoices to relevant platform for electronic processing (Dext etc)
  • Processing of invoices from expense software to accounting software (i.e. Dext to Xero)
  • Reconciling supplier accounts to end of month statements and preparing schedule for client listing all outstanding bills and due dates, including provision of ABA bank file to facilitate payment
  • Processing of unreconciled bank transactions to the general ledger
  • Raising client sales invoices as instructed by client relationship team
  • Preparation and processing of fortnightly wages, including maintenance of employee records
  • Preparation and processing of employer superannuation obligations
  • Processing of payroll data electronically to the ATO under Single Touch Payroll requirements
  • Client debtor management, through the provision of automatic reminders and statements
  • Preparation of manual journals in Xero
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including the provision of month-end journals and preparation of workpapers demonstrating reconciliations
  • Undertaking of any processing with third-party integrated apps (e.g. ApprovalMax)
  • Any other data entry requirements as requested by the client engagement team
  • Preparation of activity statement obligations
  • Drafting correspondence to be sent to clients Financial & Internal requirements:
  • Daily input of time into company's practice management system
  • Regular communication with client managers on priorities and actions
  • Highly responsive to emails and communication from client managers & Partner
  • Awareness to time, budget and KPI expectations
  • Provision of queries to client managers
  • Filing of relevant client information to the relevant internal database

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: BS Accountancy graduate or related accounting discipline
  • Years of Experience: 1–2 years of Australian bookkeeping experience
  • Industry Exposure: Bookkeeping, accounting, or business services environment
  • Technical Skills: Experience performing bookkeeping using cloud accounting systems, processing invoices through Dext and Xero, supplier and bank reconciliations, payroll processing, employer superannuation, Single Touch Payroll (STP), debtor management, manual journals, balance sheet reconciliations, workpaper preparation, activity statement preparation, and client correspondence
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented and accurate, analytical mindset, strong organisational and prioritisation skills, strong problem-solving skills, ability to meet client deadlines, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Accounting System/ Software experience or knowledge: Knowledge of Xero accounting system required; experience with Dext, ApprovalMax, or similar cloud accounting applications
  • Certificates or Licenses: CPA or Non-CPA
  • Language Requirements: Strong written and verbal English skills
