The Junior Accounting Specialist will be responsible in supporting one of our US-Based insurance client with general accounting tasks. This role is ideal for a go-getter with a keen eye for detail, a passion for working in a fast-paced startup environment, is agreeable with a contract position that can grow into great career growth. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing our financial transactions with some administrative tasks, contributing significantly to the efficiency of the client's operations.

Core Duties by Competency:
Knows the Business
- Manage all aspects of A/R and A/P, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation of accounts
- Assist with the Close Process by managing recurring General Journal Entries and maintain Company records
- Ensure accuracy in A/R and A/P records and provide timely financial reports
Leads Others
- Assist with clean-up of legacy transactions and records with the intent of clear concise reporting
- Manage multiple projects (including entities) simultaneously
Accountable
- Collections, to include weekly reports that are essential for Cash Forecasts/Management
Team Player
- Coordinate with Controller to ensure that all critical tasks are completed timely
- Special projects, as needed by Controller and C-Level Executives (directed by Controller)
Minimum Requirements
- Associates Degree (Bachelor's preferred) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounts receivable/payable role
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience required
- Minimum 6 months of demonstrated balance sheet reconciliation experience is required
- Good understanding of U.S. GAAP or IFRS preferred
- Exposure with General Journal Entries, and an understanding of the Close Process
- Preferably with Quick Books Online experience
- QuickBooks Online experience is a mandatory requirement for this position
- Good understanding of accounting principles, financial statements and financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
- Ability to manage multiple projects (including entities) simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
Working Conditions
