About the Role

As a Java Engineer, you'll develop and maintain backend applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, microservices, and PostgreSQL. You'll take ownership of assigned features from development through deployment and production support while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced developer ready to work more independently and grow toward a senior engineering position.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 17 and Java 21.
• Design and implement microservices, REST APIs, and enterprise integrations using Spring Boot.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable code and perform debugging and performance optimization.
• Work with PostgreSQL on SQL development, schema design, indexing, and query tuning.
• Implement unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Use Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD pipelines, builds, releases, and deployments.
• Take ownership of features from development through production support.
• Collaborate with QA, product owners, business analysts, architects, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and investigate production issues.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 5–8 years of relevant Java development or backend engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, preferably Java 17 or Java 21.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and microservices.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including SQL development and query optimization.
• Experience developing REST APIs and enterprise backend applications.
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience with Repos, Boards, Pipelines, and deployment workflows.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have

• Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization and orchestration tools.
• Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud-native application delivery.
• Monitoring, logging, alerting, and application support.
• Automated testing frameworks, static code analysis, and code quality tools.
• Release management, environment coordination, and deployment support.
