Japanese Interpreter
Position Summary
The Japanese Interpreter is responsible for facilitating clear and accurate communication between Japanese expatriates and local staff through interpretation and translation services.
This role also supports expatriates in administrative, logistical, and compliance-related requirements, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective cross-cultural collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interpretation & Translation
- Provide real-time Japanese ↔ English interpretation during meetings
- Translate documents such as reports, emails, and contracts
- Ensure accuracy and cultural relevance in all translations
2. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Assist with PEZA visa and AEP processing
- Handle lease agreements and housing documentation
- Coordinate with external partners for compliance requirements
- Support expatriate documentation and legal requirements
3. Administrative & Expatriate Support
- Arrange travel, accommodations, and itineraries
- Coordinate transportation and logistics
- Organize meetings, reservations, and activities
- Support visitor management and daily expatriate needs
4. General Support
- Assist in HRGA and administrative functions
- Support special projects and operational requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Japanese Studies, Linguistics, International Relations, or related field
- 3–5 years experience in Japanese interpretation/translation
- Experience supporting Japanese expatriates or working in Japanese companies
- JLPT N2 or higher (preferred)
- Strong administrative and coordination experience
