Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.
Inventory of all Computer peripherals and equipment
Completes all IT related projects
Maintains technical knowledge and reviewing professional publications
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Knowledge
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming
Efficient troubleshooting abilities
Web Development
Qualification
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is often preferred.
Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix).
Networking skills, including understanding of TCP/IP protocols.
Experience with databases and database management systems (e.g., SQL)
Cybersecurity knowledge, including understanding of security protocols and best practices
Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Experience in system administration, network administration, or database administration.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for an IT Specialist. This includes the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
Strong problem-solving skills, analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
