IT Pre-Sales Engineer Job Description

About the Role: The Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for the entire product life cycle,
from conception to launch and beyond. You will work closely with cross-functional teams,
including operations, business development, and marketing, to deliver exceptional products
that meet the needs of our customers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our
technology landscape. You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing
innovative solutions that address complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management:
Manage the product lifecycle, including updates, maintenance, and
retirement.
Analyze product metrics and make data-driven decisions.
Work with customer support to address customer issues and gather feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with operations, solutions architect, marketing and business
development team, and other cross-functional teams.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decision-making.
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and select vendors to support product development and
delivery.
Monitor vendor costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Resolve vendor-related issues and disputes promptly.
Ensure compliance with vendor contracts and company policies.
Pre-Sales
Technical Sales Support: Work closely with the Sales team to understand
client requirements and develop winning strategies for proposals and
presentations.
Product Expertise & Demonstration: Serve as the subject matter expert for the
company's products/services (e.g., software, cloud solutions, networking
hardware). Conduct technical demonstrations (demos), proofs-of-concept
(PoCs), and detailed presentations to prospects.
Solution Design & Proposal: Analyze client business and technical needs to
design and propose appropriate technical solutions.
Pre-Sales Engineer Job Description

Discovery & Qualification: Lead discovery sessions with clients to uncover and
document detailed functional and non-functional requirements. Help qualify
opportunities from a technical standpoint.
Analyze the client's requirements and develop a bill of materials that outlines
the solutions based on these requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or any IT-related field.
Experience: Typically 1-3 years in a technical role such as Systems Engineer,
Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant or prior Pre-Sales experience.
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of the technology stack being sold (e.g.,
specific cloud platforms, cybersecurity, Workspace management software, network
monitoring, and asset management, etc.).
With exposure to the cybersecurity setup and environment.
Understands the current security threat landscape.
Product management experience, preferably in a technology company.
Desired Skills:
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation.
Knowledge of AI, machine learning and cybersecurity concepts.
