Altus Capital Partners is a boutique investor and asset manager, focused on special situations and structured finance investments in Southeast Asia. The business currently has footprint in Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, and Hong Kong with Business Development, Asset Management and Operations teams spread across the region.
We are currently looking for an Investment Analyst to join the Deal and Portfolio Management Team to be based in Manila.
Job Responsibilities
General
- Analyzing and presenting opportunities and risks inherent in specific sectors and markets by conducting fundamental research on companies and sectors;
- Coordination of internal and external resources to analyze investments opportunities;
- Conduct rigorous business and market analysis, asset valuation assessment, modeling and development of financial projections;
- Carry out in-depth valuation work and analysis of risk-return opportunities in special situations
- Preparation of deal teasers and investment memos; and
- Review legal documents and provide summary interpretation and analysis to senior management.
Portfolio Management
- Assist Senior Management in overseeing and managing a diverse portfolio of special situations investments
- Interacting with legal counsel, accounting or monitoring firms, third party vendors, and borrowers on monthly basis
- Prepare cash flow models for tracking actual cash realizations versus forecasts in conjunction with the original investment underwriting
- Prepare and present quarterly business plan updates, market updates and factors affecting investment value and ultimate exit timeline to Senior Management and internal clients for review and approval; and
- Perform any other job that may be assigned from time to time by the Employee's immediate superior, and/or other Company officers.
Qualifications & Requisite Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, CFA and postgraduate qualifications desired but not mandatory
- Solid experience in either Corporate Finance, Credit / Debt or within a buyside firm as an analyst required (3-5 years experience). More junior candidates with a strong proven track record will be considered
- Experience or knowledge in Real Estate industry is appreciated
- Excellent oral and written communication in English and Tagalog, as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Must have an extremely strong work ethic and be willing to work across disciplines
- Strong modelling skills required (candidates will be tested)
- Ability to self-motivate and have a high sense of personal accountability is critical in this role
