Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Accountant to manage and oversee inventory-related financial processes. This role is responsible for tracking and reconciling inventory transactions, ensuring accurate valuation, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards across multiple brands. The Inventory Accountant will collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to analyze inventory levels, identify variances, and improve reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and variance analysis to identify discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end inventory closing processes.
  • Work closely with supply chain and warehouse teams to improve inventory controls.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies regarding inventory valuation.
  • Prepare inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audit processes related to inventory.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management for decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory accounting or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average).
  • Proficient in NetSuite
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
