As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be the primary driver of daily accounting functions for a US-based hospitality portfolio. This role is designed for a technical professional who thrives in a multi-property environment, ensuring that high-volume operations run actively and effectively. You will take the lead on month-end closings and financial reporting, bridging the gap between property-level data and consolidated corporate insights while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.
Your Impact
Multi-Property Month-End Mastery: Take point on the end-of-month closing cycle for multiple properties. You will prepare assigned journal entries, manage accruals, and perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure a clean and timely financial close.
Financial Statement Preparation: Gather and analyze information from the general ledger and various departments to prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements. You will maintain automated consolidation systems, verifying data integrity and scheduling required jobs.
Strategic Cash & Tax Management: Oversee daily cash management and prepare state and local tax returns, including sales tax, hotel occupancy tax, and telecommunications tax. You will ensure that all regional tax obligations are met accurately and on schedule.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Lead the review of invoices and the preparation of check runs. You will manage the core A/P and A/R functions, resolving discrepancies and ensuring that vendor and client accounts remain in perfect balance.
Process Optimization & Analysis: Develop and implement improved accounting procedures by analyzing current workflows. You will perform ad-hoc financial analysis, research data to answer complex financial questions, and develop sophisticated spreadsheet reports to support business decisions.
Audit & Budget Support: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and handle audit requests by providing well-maintained records and reconciled accrual files.
What You Bring
The Experience:Minimum 5 years of Accounting experience, with specific expertise in multi-property accounting (hospitality experience is highly preferred).
Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions. Proficiency in NetSuite, ProfitSword, or Adra is considered a major plus.
Analytical Prowess: Advanced PC skills, particularly in MS Excel, and a strong understanding of complex accounting concepts. You possess the reasoning and problem-solving abilities to handle insurance premium finance concepts and detailed financial variances.
Communication & Professionalism: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a track record of maintaining positive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and owners.
The Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
The Mindset: A self-motivated achiever who requires minimal supervision. You are adept at managing multiple tasks under pressure and are highly dedicated to meeting strict financial deadlines.
