As an Intermediate Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality accounting services for our Australian portfolio. This position offers a unique opportunity for career growth as you will have direct access to the firm's founder, working closely with leadership to support a diverse range of entities. You will bridge the gap between complex bookkeeping and final tax lodgments, ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency for our clients.
Your Impact
End-to-End Financial Preparation: Manage financial processing up to the Trial Balance stage and prepare comprehensive financial statements for lodgment with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. You will oversee General Ledger maintenance, reconcile asset holdings, and process corporate actions to ensure data integrity.
Complex Reconciliations: Perform deep-dive balance sheet reconciliations and manage debtor/creditor accounts. You will manually match remaining transactions and create strategic rules for recurring items to streamline future workflows.
Strategic Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and reports. Your role includes preparing superannuation and income projections to help clients make informed business decisions.
Internal Stewardship: Protect the organization's value by maintaining strict confidentiality. You will serve as a technical bridge, maintaining open lines of communication between junior staff and management to ensure all performance targets are met.
Asset & Liability Management: Compile and analyze account information to record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
What You Bring
The Experience:At least 3 years of work experience in Australian Accounting, with a mandatory background in an Australian public practice or accounting firm.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Australian financial preparation, including BAS, IAS, and FBT Returns. You are comfortable navigating Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for direct collaboration with firm leadership and management.
Operational Discipline: Exceptional time management skills and a highly organized approach. You are attentive to detail and committed to the daily completion and posting of accurate timesheets.
