Job Summary:
Henedroit Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role will require focus on payroll processing and bookkeeping. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll administration in compliance with Australian legislation, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end reporting. The role will play a key role in ensuring compliance with ATO requirements. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, and proficiency in accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Process end-to-end payroll for employees in compliance with Fair Work and ATO requirements.
- Manage PAYG withholding, superannuation contributions, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting.
- Maintain accurate employee records including leave entitlements, deductions, and benefits.
- Handle employee queries regarding payslips, leave entitlements, and deductions.
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions across general ledger, bank accounts, and credit cards.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and GST submissions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors when required.
- Generate financial reports to support management decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to assist budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Process Improvement & Business Support
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and bookkeeping processes.
- Implement best practices in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and support business operations.
Qualifications / Key Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).
- Experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and ATO compliance.
- Ability to prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and GST returns.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
Payroll & Bookkeeping Expertise
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- Knowledge of superannuation contributions, PAYG withholding, and leave entitlements.
- Strong bookkeeping skills including reconciliations, transaction recording, and financial documentation.
