Insurance Restoration Estimator

The Restoration Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing damages, preparing estimates, and coordinating restoration projects in accordance with company standards and client requirements.

Job Description

• Utilize Xactimate software or similar estimating tools (e.g., Planswift, BuilderTrend, etc.) to prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates for restoration projects, considering all necessary repairs and replacements.

• Conduct thorough assessments of damaged properties, including houses, offices and commercial buildings affected by fire, flood, and other restoration needs

• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information and documentation required for accurate estimating.

• Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters to discuss project details, negotiate estimates, and address any concerns or questions, leveraging your experience and comfort in dealing with insurance adjusters.

• Maintain a strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage limits, and industry guidelines, including the unique aspects of Hawaii's insurance landscape, to ensure compliance and accurate estimation.

• Collaborate with the restoration team to identify suitable construction methods, materials, and resources needed for each project, considering the availability and preferences in Hawaii.

• Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, including labor costs, material expenses, permits, subcontractor fees, and other relevant factors, using Xactimate software or similar tools.

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure accurate estimation, while also adapting to any Hawaii-specific requirements.

• Stay updated with industry trends, construction codes, and regulations, including those specific to Hawaii, to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.

• Work Hawaii time and be available for live video meetings in the office, ensuring effective collaboration with the team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree of engineering, architectural, or any related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in restoration, insurance adjusting, or a closely related field.

• Experience in estimating within the restoration industry, particularly in repairing houses and offices damaged by fire, floods, and other related incidents.

• Experience in computer software programs, including Microsoft Office suite.

• Familiarity with insurance claim processes and experience in effectively communicating with insurance adjusters.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and technical documentation, while also considering any Hawaii-specific requirements.
