Role Overview

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating engaging and effective educational programs and materials for a diverse audience. They will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop instructional content that enhances learning and improves performance. The primary goal will be to deliver high-quality learning experiences that meet organizational needs and exceed learner expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design and Development

  • Develop instructional materials and curricula, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methodologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Create clear, concise, and compelling content aligned with learning objectives and organizational goals.

Collaboration

  • Partner with SMEs, stakeholders, and team members to gather requirements and ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to define learning needs and evaluate instructional content.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Design assessment tools and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and learning outcomes.
  • Analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve instructional content and delivery methods.

Technology Integration

  • Leverage various e-learning technologies and platforms to enhance learning experiences.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.

  • Knowledge of instructional design models such as ADDIE and SAM.
  • Applying adult learning principles, focusing on self-direction and practical relevance.
  • Proficiency in e-learning development tools like Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for deploying and managing learning programs.

Project Management

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Relevant Experience Required

  • 35 years of experience in instructional design or a related role.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing e-learning and instructor-led training materials.

Educational And Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), ATD's Master Instructional Designer) are a plus.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous instructional design projects and materials.
