Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Product Development
- Develop and refine visual frameworks that support accessibility, usability, and a strong educator/student experience.
- Provide expert input on visual hierarchy, layout decisions, and learner-centered design techniques.
- Ensure instructional materials align to pedagogical best practices and product standards.
- Support continuous improvement of instructional products through a design-quality lens.
Copy Editing & Editorial Review
- Edit written content for grammatical accuracy, clarity, tone, and consistency in alignment with copy editing guidelines.
- Apply client-specific style and branding guidelines consistently across all deliverables.
- Review materials to ensure content is error-free and well-structured.
- Ensure internal consistency across large volumes of content (terminology, headings, labels, formatting, instructions).
- Flag inconsistencies, unclear language, or structural issues for writers and curriculum teams.
Quality Assurance & Production Review
- Conduct detailed QA reviews of publisher-ready drafts to ensure alignment with templates, formatting standards, and design specifications.
- Perform spot-check formatting and style reviews across large content sets.
- Review design outputs to ensure visual and textual accuracy prior to final delivery.
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, educational product design, graphic design, or related field.
- Exceptional fluency in English.
- Demonstrated ability to edit quickly and accurately within fast-paced production workflows.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free work.
- Proficiency in design and editing tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Google Workspace, Microsoft Word & PPT, PDF markup tools).
- Ability to pass a standard copy edit assessment.
Preferred Skills
- Secondary mathematics instruction experience.
- Experience as a designer or editor at a curriculum or publishing organization.
