About the Role
The Import Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all import-related activities for the Spinneys PH, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of imported goods. This role involves close coordination with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to maintain adequate inventory levels while meeting regulatory, cost, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end import activities from purchase order issuance to final warehouse delivery
- Prepare and verify import documents required by the Bureau of Customs through Electronic-to-Mobile or National Single Window system
- Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate tariff classification, valuation and declaration
- Ensure timely and compliant delivery of imported goods.
- Secure and monitor necessary permits and clearance including:
FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for processed food, beverages
DA-BPI or DA BAI for plant and animal-based products
Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) or NFA or other commodity-specific agencies when applicable
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers on production schedules, export documentation and shipment readiness
- Prevent demurrage, detention and storage charges through proactive coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Customs Administration, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in import coordination, logistics or international trade
- Experience in supermarket, grocery, retail or FMCG importation is highly preferred
- Hand-on experience dealing with BOC, FDA, DA-BPA, BAI and customs brokers
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of:
- Philippine import procedures and customs requirements
- BOC E2M / National Single Window processes
- Import documentation and tariff classification
- Incoterms and landed cost computation
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and email applications
- Experience using ERP, inventory or logistics systems is an advantage
