JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Hydropower Engineer (Electromechanical) to join our Energy group. This role contributes to the delivery of high‑quality projects for internal, existing, and new clients, while developing commercial awareness and supporting the technical growth of the team.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver electromechanical and hydromechanical engineering for hydropower assets across the project lifecycle (concept through detailed design, construction support and commissioning)
  • Develop and review technical deliverables such as equipment specifications, data sheets, interface lists, calculations and design reports for generators, turbines, governors, gates, penstocks, etc
  • Coordinate with civil, hydraulic, electrical and control disciplines, vendors and contractors to manage interfaces, support procurement/technical evaluations, and ensure delivery to scope, schedule and budget

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in hydropower electromechanical and hydromechanical design and/or refurbishment projects within consulting, utility or OEM/contractor environments
  • Proven experience producing and checking design documentation (specifications, drawings, calculations and reports) for hydropower equipment
  • Consulting experience is a plus, including owner's engineer support, technical due diligence/condition assessments, preparation of tenders and proposals, and stakeholder coordination with clients, regulators and contractors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical interfaces and deadlines, including providing responsive site support during installation, testing and commissioning when required
