This role supports the hydraulics team through design and drafting capabilities, focusing on documenting building services and progressively developing into a design-focused position. The successful candidate will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects while building technical expertise in hydraulic systems and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and coordinate building services across assigned projects
- Assist with drafting and design for multi-disciplinary projects including water, gas, sewer, and stormwater systems
- Support the preparation of hydraulic designs, calculations, and technical documentation
- Perform hydraulic calculations and assist in engineering design functions
- Prepare reports, drawings, and submissions for authority approvals
- Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders for applications and compliance
- Contribute to maintaining and improving quality assurance procedures and standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and provide support to other design and drafting staff
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and meet required standards
- Develop knowledge of building services, regulations, and industry practices
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in drafting and design within hydraulic or building services projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of hydraulic systems (water, gas, sewer, stormwater)
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and interpret technical data
- Understanding of engineering drawings, documentation, and design coordination
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes in engineering or construction projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of Australian Standards and building regulations
