Job Summary
The HR Manager will oversee and manage the full spectrum of human resources functions for the Philippine operations of a Japanese retail computer company. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives while ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws and adherence to Japanese corporate policies and values.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR & Operations
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with both local regulations and Japanese head office standards
- Act as a trusted HR partner to management in workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement
- Support business expansion, store operations, and head office functions through effective HR strategies
Recruitment & Workforce Management
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for retail, IT, operations, and corporate roles
- Manage manpower planning for stores, warehouses, and support offices
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires
Employee Relations & Labor Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine labor laws, DOLE requirements, and company policies
- Handle employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Prepare and manage documentation related to employee cases, notices, and investigations
Performance Management & Learning
- Oversee performance appraisal systems and support managers in performance improvement initiatives
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate learning programs to enhance workforce capability
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination
- Manage compensation structures, salary reviews, incentives, and benefits administration
- Coordinate closely with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR)
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and insights for local management and Japan headquarters
- Support audits, internal reviews, and HR documentation requirements
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 58 years of progressive HR experience, with 23 years in a managerial role
- Strong working knowledge of Philippine labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements
- Experience in retail, consumer electronics, or multinational (Japanese) companies is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficient in HR systems, MS Office, and reporting tools
