Job Description

Job Summary

The HR Specialist (Generalist) is responsible for supporting and general management of all facets of Human Resources operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, compliance, and HR reporting. This role works closely with the HR Manager in implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that support business objectives and foster a positive employee experience.

The HR Specialist serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers and ensures consistent application of HR policies and practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviews and records management
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth and engaging employee onboarding experience
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and hiring documentation

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employee concerns, inquiries, and basic conflict resolution
  • Assist in implementing employee engagement initiatives and company activities
  • Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations cases, in coordination with the HR Manager

3. Performance Management

  • Administer performance appraisal processes, including timelines, forms, and documentation
  • Support managers in understanding and applying performance management guidelines
  • Assist in performance improvement plans (PIP) and related documentation

4. Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process Timekeeping and Payroll (Sprout Payroll)
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, renewals, and coordination with vendors (HMO, insurance, etc.)
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and statutory contributions

5. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and internal procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files
  • Prepare HR reports, analytics, and documentation as required by management
  • Coordinate government-mandated benefits and statutory requirements

6. Policy Implementation & HR Projects

  • Assist the HR Manager in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Support HR initiatives, process improvements, and special HR projects
  • Ensure consistent implementation of HR programs across departments

7. Administrative & Management Support

  • Provide direct support to the HR Manager on HR planning, reporting, and presentations and working relationships (Internal & External)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on HR experience handling multiple HR facets
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity
  • Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace; experience with HR systems/ Sprout System is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with management
  • Keen to details with excellent document management skills
