About The Role
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist who combines technical HR expertise with strong interpersonal skills to provide comprehensive support across multiple states (WA, NV, AZ, NM). This role ensures compliance, consistency, and a positive employee experience while partnering with leaders, managers, and staff to handle employee relations, HR operations, benefits, payroll, and policy development.
The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, proactive, and approachable, with the ability to manage HR responsibilities independently while fostering positive relationships and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and performance management.
- Provide guidance on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws across WA, NV, AZ, and NM.
- Document and resolve employee concerns appropriately.
- Support leadership in fostering an inclusive, engaging workplace culture.
- Exhibit professionalism, reliability, and integrity in all interactions.
HR Administration & Operations
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and employee files.
- Manage HR communications and documentation promptly and consistently.
- Oversee processes such as onboarding, job changes, and terminations.
- Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, WA PFML, NV Paid Leave, AZ Sick Leave, etc.).
- Track and coordinate workers compensation claims.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in all operational tasks.
Recruitment Support
- Provide backup support for recruitment activities: posting jobs, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and candidate communication.
- Ensure a positive and consistent candidate experience.
- Maintain a team-oriented, supportive, and approachable demeanor with candidates and colleagues.
Benefits & Payroll
- Administer benefit programs, including enrollments and eligibility tracking.
- Process and review bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide guidance to employees on payroll and benefits questions.
- Interpret and apply payroll and benefits policies and regulations.
- Be tech-savvy and leverage HRIS, payroll platforms, and reporting tools to streamline processes.
Policy Development & Projects
- Assist with drafting and communicating HR policies and procedures.
- Support HR initiatives to improve efficiency, engagement, and retention.
- Contribute to audits and reporting for compliance with employment laws and internal standards.
- Take initiative, work independently, and provide practical solutions to HR challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional HR experience.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
- Multi-state HR experience strongly preferred (WA, NV, AZ, NM).
- Knowledge of U.S. federal and state labor laws, leave, and workers compensation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; clear, concise, and effective both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Demonstrates reliability, consistency, independence, responsiveness, adaptability, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
