Job Description

The Role

The Employee Relations Lead plays a key role in ensuring a compliant, structured, and employee-centered workplace. This role oversees HR documentation, legal compliance, and policy creation, while supporting employee engagement, labor relations, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a firm grasp of PH labor laws, and the ability to translate company values into practical, people-focused policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Development & Compliance

  • Draft, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in compliance with Philippine Labor Laws and DOLE regulations.
  • Partner with the Head of People & Culture to design policies that balance company objectives with employee welfare.
  • Ensure timely dissemination and implementation of new or revised policies across all teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor legislation and apply necessary updates to policies and processes.

2. HR Documentation & Paperwork

  • Manage and oversee all HR-related paperwork including employment contracts, addendums, disciplinary actions, clearance forms, and termination documents.
  • Standardize templates for HR letters, memos, and agreements to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes by ensuring proper documentation for hiring, promotion, transfers, and offboarding.

3. Employee Relations & Case Management

  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees on workplace issues, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
  • Conduct investigations and documentation for employee concerns, disciplinary cases, and policy breaches.
  • Serve as a neutral facilitator between employees and leadership to ensure fair and consistent resolution of issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all employee relations activities.

4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate and organized employee relations records, case logs, and documentation trackers.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams for policy audits and risk assessments.
  • Recommend improvements to current HR practices and systems to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in HR, specializing in Employee Relations and Policy Management.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and employment law.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Experience in a BPO or shared service environment is a plus.

First 30 Days

Orientation & Assessment

- Review existing HR policies, templates, and handbook.

- Familiarize with current employee relations cases.

- Build relationships with P&C and Operations leaders.

Next 30 Days (60 Days)

Process & Policy Enhancement

- Draft or update at least 3 key HR policies (e.g. Code of Conduct, Disciplinary Process, Probationary Evaluation).

- Establish standardized HR document templates.

- Propose ER tracking and documentation system.

Next 30 Days (90 Days)

Implementation & Optimization

- Roll out updated Employee Handbook.

- Conduct policy orientation sessions for leaders and employees.

- Establish monthly ER summary reports and policy compliance tracker.
