Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily housekeeping operations within the mall to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and overall presentation standards are consistently maintained. This role supervises housekeeping personnel and ensures all common areas, restrooms, tenant zones, and public spaces are clean, safe, and presentable, providing a positive experience for shoppers, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision and Team Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff, including janitors, cleaners, and utility personnel.
  • Prepare staff schedules and assign cleaning duties to ensure full coverage of all mall areas.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, grooming standards, and housekeeping procedures.

Cleaning Operations and Quality Control

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all mall common areas, including corridors, entrances, restrooms, escalators, elevators, food courts, parking areas, and administrative offices.
  • Conduct routine inspections to maintain mall cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Respond promptly to cleaning requests, spills, and emergency sanitation requirements.
  • Ensure proper use and handling of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals.

Coordination with Mall Tenants and Departments

  • Coordinate with mall administration, tenants, maintenance, and security teams regarding housekeeping requirements.
  • Support mall events, promotions, and peak operations by ensuring cleanliness and readiness of all areas.
  • Address tenant and customer concerns related to housekeeping.

Inventory and Equipment Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, usage, and maintenance of housekeeping tools and materials.
  • Report equipment damage, shortages, or replacement needs.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support mall environmental and waste management programs.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare daily housekeeping reports, incident reports, and staff attendance records.
  • Report operational issues, manpower concerns, and cleaning requirements to management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of any Bachelor's degree; Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related course is an advantage.
  • At least 24 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 12 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in mall, retail, or commercial property operations is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
