High voltage Design engineers are specialists in Design and installing high voltage and can work with both low voltage and high voltage electrical equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop design schedules and budgets, and prepare conceptual engineering documents
- Provide technical support during the project permitting phase, and support clients with utility interface and technical coordination (knowledgeable in
- Develop and maintain electrical system documentation, and write technical documentation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in high voltage systems
- Communicate with all stakeholders, and promote a customer centric environment
- Define customer needs and requirements, and ensure that installations and applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards
- Stay up-to-date with new technology that can be incorporated into new designs
- Conduct power system studies (ETAP, PSSE)
- Conduct Load flow , Short Circuit, relay Coordination and ARC flash Analysis
- Knowledgeable with High Voltage Electrical Equipment
- Develop and analyze PSCAD models
- Prepare one line and three-line diagrams, and AC/DC schematics
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or master's in electrical engineering or related field
- Excellent electrical engineering foundations for High Voltage Engineering
- At least 3-4 years of experience in high voltage electrical engineering
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations in high voltage systems is a must
- Knowledge of relevant safety codes and regulations
- Familiarity with CAD, REVIT software and electrical simulation tools
- Knowledge of AC single - three-phase power systems and at high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage levels
- Knowledge of DC power systems at medium and low voltage levels
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams)
- Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group
