Work Set-up: Work From Home

Shift: 10:00pm 7:00am Monday to Friday

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Healthcare Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely posting of healthcare payments while managing EFT and ERA enrollments with payers and clearinghouses. The role supports payment integrity, reconciliation accuracy, and revenue cycle optimization through close coordination with internal teams, payers, and vendors.

  • Posts daily payments and denials from ERAs, lockboxes, and manual remittances into the billing system.
  • Reconciles EFT deposits, paper checks, and bank statements to posted payments and remittance advice.
  • Identifies and resolves posting discrepancies and unapplied cash.
  • Ensures accurate application of payer payments, patient payments, and refunds in compliance with contractual and regulatory guidelines.
  • Completes, submits, and tracks EFT and ERA enrollments with payers and clearinghouses.
  • Validates EFT and ERA enrollments to ensure electronic payments and remittances are received and processed correctly.
  • Maintains payer enrollment documentation, banking information, and authorization forms in compliance with security and privacy standards.
  • Serves as the primary contact for payer follow-ups related to EFT and ERA setup, updates, and issues.
  • Tracks key performance indicators such as posting timeliness, unapplied cash rates, EFT/ERA adoption, and reconciliation variances.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase ERA auto-posting and reduce manual payment posting.
  • Supports system upgrades, payer implementations, and revenue cycle process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and database systems.
  • Experience with EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) enrollment.
  • Experience with EFT and ERA enrollment processes.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of remittance advice, EOB/ERA interpretation, and payer contracts.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read remit posts correctly and reconcile payment reports.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate the initiative to resolve issues in support of improvement efforts.
  • Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • experience in healthcare payment posting or revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience using Availity and other provider portals (e.g., Blue Cross Blue Shield, UHC, PaySpan, Echo Health).
  • Experience with practice management or hospital billing systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, formulas, and balancing/reconciliation functions.
  • Must have a stable employment history.
