As Head of Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing the tax compliance and planning functions in the company, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic guidance on tax-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax) in compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Reporting: Coordinate the preparation of tax provision for financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g. BIR).
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Provide strategic advice on tax planning, structuring transactions, and identifying tax-saving opportunities.
- People Management: Oversees the work deliverables of the direct reports through regular guidance and coaching to ensure effective execution of responsibilities. Leads the execution of performance management process in one's team through partnership with direct reports so the latter can deliver what is expected of him/her (i.e., accomplishment of one's performance targets).
What we're looking for:
- College Graduate, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- The applicant must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a licensed lawyer, as both qualifications are essential for the role.
- A Master's in Taxation or equivalent advanced degree is often preferred
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax management or senior-level tax advisory roles, with experience in both direct and indirect taxation
- Significant experience in corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax audits, and international tax matters
- Preferably with experience in Commercial and Manufacturing industry
- Extensive knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR regulations, along with international taxation practices
- Expertise in tax compliance and reporting processes is required
- Ability to analyze complex tax issues, provide strategic advice, and develop tax-efficient solutions
