About The Job
The Head of PMO is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously strengthening the enterprise Project Management Office to deliver high‑impact, cross‑company initiatives. This role provides strategic oversight, governance, and direction to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, ensuring projects are executed consistently, efficiently, and aligned to organizational priorities. The Head of PMO partners closely with executive leadership to drive disciplined execution, value realization, and organizational change across the enterprise.
What You Will Do
- Lead and set the strategic direction of the enterprise PMO, ensuring alignment with company priorities and objectives
- Oversee the portfolio of cross-company projects, ensuring effective prioritization, governance, and delivery
- Manage, coach, and develop Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to drive consistent, high-quality execution
- Establish and uphold project management standards, governance frameworks, and reporting across the organization
- Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to enable alignment, manage risks, and support decision-making
- Monitor project and portfolio performance, proactively addressing risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges
- Drive continuous improvement of PMO practices, tools, and capabilities to increase organizational maturity
- Provide clear, data driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership to support timely investment, prioritization, and trade off decisions across the project portfolio
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to manage project financials, track realized benefits, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value and ROI
What You Need To Have
- 10 years experience in project management
- Knowledge of financial processes (e.g. budgeting and forecasting)
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide or cross-functional project portfolios in complex organizations
- Demonstrated success managing and developing people
- Strong experience partnering with executive leadership and navigating matrixed organizations
- Able to understand strategy and align it to the program objectives
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Can think like the customer
- Ability to coach and motivate (able to use coaching approaches)
- Possess a high degree of initiative and independent judgement with excellent troubleshooting and decision making.
- Confidence to challenge and ask why. Can lead others with influencing skills
- With problem solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Ability to work with teams, to influence and co-operate and collaborate
