Job Description

We're looking for a strategic IT leader to champion and deliver enterprise systems, cybersecurity and digital transformation for a growing international leader in an inspiring niche industry at the intersection of leisure, tourism and marine conservation.

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead the next phase of our global digital maturity.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and governing the company's enterprise technology environment. The successful candidate will oversee the architecture, integration and evolution of critical systems including Microsoft 365, ERP (Business Central), CRM, HR platforms, project systems and proprietary operational platforms.

The role exists to move the organisation from fragmented systems and uneven capability toward a coherent, enterprise-wide digital ecosystem that supports productivity, operational excellence, customer outcomes and growth.

This position focuses on systems leadership and digital transformation rather than day-to-day IT support operations.

The Head of IT works closely with executive leadership and global teams to ensure technology investments are secure, scalable, integrated and aligned with how the business operates and grows.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Systems Leadership

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture across Microsoft 365, ERP, CRM, HR and project systems
  • Drive platform integration and eliminate duplication across business units

Digital Transformation

  • Lead delivery of major systems initiatives including ERP expansion, CRM implementation and HR platform rollout
  • Ensure transformation programs deliver measurable business outcomes

Microsoft 365 Strategy & Adoption

  • Establish governance and architecture for Teams, SharePoint and collaboration environments
  • Improve organisation-wide capability and adoption

Cybersecurity & Risk Oversight

  • Own the organisation's cybersecurity posture across identity, devices, infrastructure and cloud environments
  • Ensure strong governance frameworks and vendor oversight

ERP & Business Systems Governance

  • Support global expansion of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central beyond finance into broader operational workflows
  • Align ERP with CRM, HR and project management systems

CRM Strategy

  • Lead design and implementation of a unified CRM capability supporting marketing, sales and customer engagement

HR Systems Transformation

  • Guide the evaluation and implementation of modern HR platforms supporting employee experience and compliance

Vendor & Cost Management

  • Manage managed service providers (MSPs) and technology vendors
  • Optimise licensing, contracts and platform costs

AI Strategy & Readiness

  • Help shape the organisation's AI strategy and productivity use cases
  • Establish governance and risk frameworks for AI adoption

Executive Governance & Reporting

  • Translate technical risk into clear business insights for executive leadership and board stakeholders

Team & Operating Model

The Head of IT will oversee a lean but evolving technology function, including:

  • Internal Tier 12 IT support resources
  • Managed Services Provider relationships
  • Specialist vendors across ERP, CRM, HR and infrastructure

As the organisation's digital capability grows, this role will help build capability across systems administration, cybersecurity and enterprise platforms.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of enterprise architecture expertise, transformation leadership and commercial acumen.

Core Experience

  • Enterprise architecture leadership in Microsoft-centric environments
  • Delivery of multi-system transformation programs (ERP, CRM, HR platforms)
  • Cybersecurity governance and risk management
  • Managing managed service providers and complex vendor ecosystems
  • Driving organisational capability uplift and digital maturity

Leadership Skills

  • Ability to translate technical complexity into clear business insight
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across executive and operational teams
  • Change leadership in complex, global organisations
  • Strategic thinking combined with practical delivery focus

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Systems or similar discipline (or equivalent experience)

Highly Desirable

  • Microsoft certifications (Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM or similar)
  • Program delivery certifications (PMP, PRINCE2)

Working Arrangements

  • Global remit across multiple time zones
  • Occasional travel to international offices and project locations
  • Availability during critical incidents or major system deployments
