Job Description

About the Role

  • Lead and manage the full scope of HR operations for Sunlight Hotels and Resorts with properties Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort, Sunlight Hotel Coron and Sunlight Hotel Puerto Princesa
  • Serve as a trusted partner to management and a go-to resource for all employees
  • Ensure people practices are consistent, fair, and aligned with business goals and Philippine labor standards
  • Support all departments across corporate office and the hotel and resort properties

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for all levels, from rank-and-file to managerial positions
  • Develop job descriptions, post vacancies, coordinate interviews, and conduct background checks
  • Manage job offers and employee onboarding
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for high-turnover hospitality roles
  • Establish partnerships with schools, placement agencies, and job platforms

Payroll & Compensation Administration

  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees
  • Compute basic pay, overtime, allowances, deductions, and government-mandated contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding tax)
  • Maintain proper payroll records and documentation
  • Ensure compensation structures remain competitive within the hospitality industry

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters
  • Facilitate fair and thorough investigations and mediate workplace conflicts
  • Implement corrective actions in accordance with company policy and the Labor Code
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture

Training & Development

  • Design and oversee training programs covering onboarding, service standards, safety protocols, and leadership development
  • Coordinate compliance-related training across departments
  • Identify skills gaps and develop learning plans in collaboration with department heads

Performance Management

  • Implement and manage the company's performance appraisal system
  • Ensure evaluations are conducted regularly, fairly, and constructively
  • Guide managers in setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback
  • Address underperformance in a structured and documented manner

Compliance & Labor Relations

  • Ensure full compliance with the Labor Code of the Philippines, DOLE regulations, and OSHC requirements
  • Prepare and submit required government reports
  • Keep the company audit-ready at all times
  • Maintain updated and complete 201 files and HR records for all employees

HR Policy & Administration

  • Develop, review, and enforce the company's HR policies and Employee Handbook
  • Ensure consistent implementation of policies across all departments
  • Manage HR documentation including employment contracts, memoranda, disciplinary notices, and separation documents

Compensation & Benefits Management

  • Administer employee benefits including HMO, leave entitlements, government benefits, and company perks
  • Regularly benchmark compensation and benefits against industry standards
  • Recommend adjustments to remain competitive and retain talent

Workforce Planning & Organizational Development

  • Collaborate with senior management to assess staffing needs and manage headcount planning
  • Support organizational changes and restructuring as needed
  • Provide data-driven HR reports and insights to guide strategic decisions on hiring, retention, and workforce structure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least a year in a managerial capacity
  • Prior experience in the hotel, resort, or hospitality industry is strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and mandatory government benefits
  • Proficient in payroll processing and HR information systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential matters
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-department environment
