The Finance Head is responsible for overseeing the company's overall finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, regulatory compliance, and sound financial management. The role provides financial insights and recommendations to management to support business decisions, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, financial forecasts, and business plans.
- Analyze financial performance, business trends, and key financial metrics.
- Provide management with timely financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations.
- Partner with business leaders to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and financial performance.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
2. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review financial reports and management accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure proper accounting policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support the completion of annual audits.
3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor the company's cash position, working capital, and liquidity requirements.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and ensure sufficient funds are available for operational requirements.
- Oversee banking relationships and banking transactions.
- Monitor receivables and payables to optimize working capital.
4. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, accounting standards, and government regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the timely filing and payment of taxes and statutory financial obligations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safekeeping of financial records and supporting documents.
5. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Establish, review, and strengthen financial policies, processes, and internal controls.
- Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigating measures.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties and adherence to approval and authorization processes.
- Monitor compliance with company policies and financial controls.
6. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the Finance and Accounting team.
- Establish clear performance objectives and monitor team deliverables.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members to improve technical capabilities and performance.
- Ensure adequate staffing, workload distribution, and continuity of finance operations.
7. Business Partnership & Management Support
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to the leadership team and key business stakeholders.
- Provide financial advice and recommendations on business initiatives, investments, and operational decisions.
- Translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and key business indicators to senior management.
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives within Finance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA is preferred but not required.
- At least 7–10 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Good knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems or ERP platforms.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
