Our client is a wellestablished Australian homebuilding group, operating three major builder brands and with a shared services hub in Manila. Manila office plays a critical role in finance, estimating, drafting, scheduling, and other key business functions, and is known for its collaborative, familyoriented culture.
Job Description
- Lead the Manila Accounting team.
- Oversee accurate and timely monthend and yearend close for the Philippine entity.
- Ensure compliance with PFRS/IFRS, statutory requirements, and group accounting policies.
- Manage external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
- Oversee BIR, SEC, and other regulatory filings, including VAT, withholding tax, and income tax.
- Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, and governance frameworks.
- Identify control gaps and drive remediation and continuous improvement.
- Serve as accounting system owner for D365/Xero; ensure data integrity and proper configuration.
- Collaborate with Australiabased finance and system teams on reporting and system updates.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the CFO and Australian finance leaders.
- Develop and mentor the Controllership team; drive performance and capability building.
- Support alignment between Manila accounting operations and group reporting requirements.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Head Of Accounting Should Have
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong technical accounting foundation.
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or financial governance.
- Proven ability to implement and strengthen internal controls and compliance structures.
- Solid background in PFRS/IFRS, audits, and statutory reporting.
- Strong leadership experience managing small to midsized accounting teams.
- Experience in sharedservices or multinational environments is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable with hybrid work (2-3 days onsite; later 1-2 days).
- Open to minimal travel (1-2 times per year).
