Job Summary: The Business Development Head is responsible for leading the strategic growth initiatives of the company. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and executing new business opportunities, partnerships, and projects that drive revenue growth and long-term sustainability. This position plays a critical role in expanding the company's portfolio, enhancing client relationships, and ensuring the competitiveness of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Growth
- Develop and implement the company's business development roadmap aligned with overall corporate strategy.
- Identify and evaluate new markets, emerging technologies, and strategic investments within the utilities sector.
- Lead feasibility studies, market analysis, and due diligence for potential ventures and acquisitions.
2. Business Expansion & Partnerships
- Forge strategic alliances and partnerships with LGUs, private developers, industrial clients, and government agencies.
- Drive concession, joint venture, and public-private partnership (PPP) opportunities for infrastructure projects.
- Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements, MOUs, and partnership frameworks.
3. Project Development
- Oversee the end-to-end development of new projects from concept, technical evaluation, and financial modeling to regulatory approvals.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure project viability and risk management.
- Present project proposals and investment cases to executive management and the Board.
4. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key customers, regulators and industry partners.
- Represent the company in high-level meetings, forums, and conferences to promote its brand and business interests.
5. Leadership & Team Management
- Build and lead a high-performing business development and project development team.
- Drive collaboration across departments to ensure alignment of business goals and operational execution.
- Establish performance metrics and ensure continuous team development and capability building.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of solid experience in business development, project development, or corporate strategy.
- Proven track record in developing large-scale projects or securing public-private partnerships (PPPs).
- Strong understanding of government regulatory processes, environmental compliance, and commercial contracting.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial acumen.
