Job Description

The Head of Asset Management is responsible for maximizing the financial performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value of the company's renewable energy portfolio. The role oversees the performance of multiple operating renewable energy assets and ensures compliance with contractual, regulatory, environmental, and financial obligations.

This position leads the asset management team and coordinates closely with operations, finance, commercial, and project development teams to optimize generation, manage risks, and protect shareholder value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Portfolio Performance Management

  • Oversee performance of all operating renewable energy assets (solar, wind, hydro, BESS).
  • Ensure assets meet generation, availability, and financial performance targets.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Energy production vs. forecast, Plant availability, Capacity factor and Revenue performance
  • Identify underperformance and implement corrective actions.

2. Financial and Commercial Oversight

  • Manage financial performance of assets including revenue, OPEX, and margins.
  • Oversee compliance with Power Supply Agreements (PSA), PPAs, and other commercial contracts.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for operating assets.
  • Optimize revenue through Contract management, Energy trading opportunities and Curtailment mitigation strategies.

3. Contract and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage key project contracts including O&M Agreements, EPC warranty obligations, Grid interconnection agreements, Land lease agreements and Insurance policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Offtakers (utilities or corporates), Grid operators, Government regulators and Local communities.

4. Technical and Operational Coordination

  • Work closely with O&M providers to ensure optimal plant operation.
  • Monitor plant reliability and performance metrics.
  • Oversee major maintenance activities and plant upgrades.
  • Ensure proper spare parts and maintenance planning.

5. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements, Environmental and social obligations, Grid code requirements and Loan covenants.
  • Manage operational risks including Curtailment, Equipment failures and Weather risks.
  • Lead insurance claims when necessary.

6. Reporting and Governance

  • Prepare regular asset performance reports for senior management and investors.
  • Provide insights on portfolio performance and value optimization.
  • Support lender and shareholder reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and asset governance.

7. Portfolio Optimization and Value Creation

  • Identify opportunities to improve asset value through Performance improvements, Repowering or upgrades, Contract renegotiation and Cost optimization.
  • Support acquisitions, refinancing, or asset divestments.

8. Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the asset management team.
  • Establish best practices, tools, and processes for asset monitoring.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Finance, Legal and Development teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Energy Management, or related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or Energy-related) is an advantage.

Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in renewable energy, power generation, or infrastructure.
  • At least 5 years in asset management or operations leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple power generation assets.
