About Us:
KIJI Bakehouse is a bakery and caf serving coffee, drinks, pastries, and hot kitchen meals. We focus on consistent quality, efficient operations, and strong teamwork. Our hot kitchen serves rice bowls, breakfast plates, pasta, sandwiches using our in-house breads, and seasonal dishes. The Head Chef will work closely under the guidance of our Michelin-starred chef consultant to ensure proper execution, training, and kitchen standards.
Role Overview:
The Head Chef leads daily hot kitchen operations at KIJI Bakehouse Mall of Asia. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for food quality, kitchen organization, inventory, and staff supervision. The Head Chef ensures all food is prepared correctly, the kitchen runs smoothly, and standards are followed at all times.
Core Responsibilities:
Oversee daily hot kitchen operations and ensure smooth service
Cook, prepare, and supervise all hot kitchen dishes to ensure quality and consistency
Ensure recipes, portions, and presentation standards are followed
Ensure all prep is completed properly for current and next-day service
Maintain complete ingredients, tools, and station readiness at all times
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, organization, and food safety standards
Inventory, Ordering & Cost Control:
Monitor stock levels and ensure ingredients are always available
Coordinate with management for ordering ingredients and supplies
Conduct inventory counts and track ingredient usage
Minimize waste, spoilage, and overuse of ingredients
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practices
People & Kitchen Management:
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate kitchen staff
Train staff on recipes, kitchen procedures, and hygiene standards
Monitor staff performance and maintain discipline and professionalism
Lead daily briefings and communicate priorities clearly
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service
Step in to cook, prep, or assist wherever needed
Quality & Management Coordination:
Check food quality regularly and ensure standards are met
Follow systems and standards set by our Michelin-starred chef consultant
Report equipment issues, supply shortages, or operational problems
Assist management in improving kitchen systems and workflow
Help implement new menu items and procedures when needed

Requirements:
Experience as Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role
Experience in restaurant, caf, or hot kitchen operations
Strong leadership, organization, and kitchen management skills
Willing to learn and execute systems from our Michelin-starred chef consultant
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen standards
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules
Willing to be assigned in Mall of Asia, Pasay City
