About The Role
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our growing team, based on-site full time in our office in Parañaque, Metro Manila. This role will be able to bridge the gap between formal education and the workforce, establishing a clear path for your future and accelerated success.
As a BMD Global Services Graduate Engineer, you will develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking, innovation and team building.
You'll Get The Opportunity To
- learn about drawings, specifications, and workplace health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) requirements for all site-related activities
- work as part of a team to ensure core project functions are being delivered, including purchasing materials, supporting financial functions, submitting progress claims, assisting with quality monitoring and contributing to creating solutions where needed
- maintain a daily diary outlining details of site meetings, discussions, works performed, and inspections
- actively participate in training initiatives and skill development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Drawings, Specifications and Quality, OH&S and Environmental requirements for all site related activities.
- Support the implementation of Project Quality, OH&S and Environmental Management Plans for all projects.
- Assist in monitoring and updating on a regular basis the construction programme on projects in which you are involved.
- Together with the purchasing staff we ensure that materials are procured in advance of the requirements of the construction programme for all projects.
- Together with the site staff review and process subcontractor progress payments monthly and advise administration in accordance with monthly reporting requirements.
- Together with the site engineering and supervisory staff prepare and submit monthly progress claim for works completed on all projects.
- Together with the site engineer and supervisory staff monitor and assist in submitting variations, extensions of time and delays to the work daily.
- Together with the site Foreman monitor daily work activities for production and effectiveness of resources and implement improvements with respect to activity costs.
- Maintain a daily diary outlining details of site meetings, discussions, works performed, and inspections.
- Assist in daily project Quality System monitoring with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation and record keeping.
- Actively participate in training initiatives and skill development programmes
About You
You're a motivated civil engineering graduate who's keen to build a career in construction and gain hands-on site experience on real projects.
You Will Have
- Must be a licensed Civil Engineer, preferably a graduate of a top university in the Philippines
- The Graduate Engineer should have the understanding to seek assistance from the Project Manager/Project Engineer/Construction Engineer where appropriate to enhance the success of the project through maintaining informed and consultative decisions.
- The Graduate Engineer should develop the necessary experience in this role to gain advancement within the construction division of the organisation.
- Undertake any other duties that are required to successfully complete projects under your control.
- Travel may be required from time to time, both locally and interstate as required.
