Job Description

Main Duties And Responsibilities

I. Academic Duties

  • Designs and delivers subject lessons to the assigned classes
  • Creates module plans, participates in articulation and collaboration sessions
  • Teaches the subject assigned to him/her, with emphasis on studentcentered activities
  • Prepares instructional materials such as visual aids, Learning Activity Sheets (LAS), Information Sheets (IS), and formative and summative Assessments
  • Monitors and evaluates student performance
  • Assigns, reviews, and assesses student work, including seatwork, homework, formative and summative assessments, to monitor student performance and evaluate learning progress
  • Communicates with parents regarding student performance, facilitating discussions through scheduled parent-teacher conferences or upon request
  • Attends and actively participates in Faculty general assemblies, meetings, and other committees assigned to him/her
  • Participates in grade-level meetings, contributing to the planning, execution, and assessment of grade-level activities
  • Engages in task force meetings, collaborating on project planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Ensures the proper use, maintenance, and safekeeping of instructional materials, school equipment, and facilities

II. Prefecting and Proctoring Duties

  • Monitors students at specific locations during Quiet Time, Mind-Setting Time, Check-In Periods, recess, and lunch on assigned days to ensure discipline and orderly conduct
  • Monitors students as a designated table prefect in the cafeteria, maintaining order and proper etiquette (applicable to Grades 3-6 teachers)
  • Monitors students during the Sportsfests and Intramurals to ensure student safety and discipline
  • Monitors a class during dismissal (for Kinder to Grade 3) to ensure a safe and orderly departure (applicable to Kinder to Grade 3)
  • Proctors a class during summative assessments

III. Advising and Counseling Duties

  • Provides individualized guidance and support to students, making referrals to the Child Development Center when necessary
  • Handles student disciplinary concerns, addressing minor infractions and escalating serious cases to the Grade Level Coordinator (GLC) as appropriate
  • Coordinates with the Class Adviser and/or the Child Development Center to monitor and follow up on student referrals
  • Conducts group guidance sessions during Check-in period and Quiet Time, collaborating with the Guidance Counselor as needed (applicable to CT/CA only)

IV. Student Recording and Reporting Duties

  • Scores, records, encodes, and validates student marks in grading sheets (Edusuite)
  • Compiles and submits reports on student honors and awards for review by the GLC
  • o Recommends to the GLC merits and demerits for Grades 3-6
  • Prepares and submits student attendance, deportment reports, and other required documentation to the GLC
  • Monitors and records student attendance and punctuality to ensure accurate documentation
  • Ensures the confidentiality and integrity of official school records pertaining to the students (e.g. report cards, exams, guidance test results)

V. Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong understanding of elementary-level subjects, including but not limited to language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music, arts, etc. ensuring effective lesson delivery
  • Instructional Strategies: Ability to design and implement engaging, studentcentered learning experiences using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. The ability to create online and onsite modules is a plus
  • Curriculum Development: Knowledge of curriculum standards and the ability to create lesson plans aligned with learning objectives and assessment requirements
  • Classroom Management: Proficiency in establishing a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters respect, discipline, and active student participation
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues in a professional and supportive manner
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively with fellow educators, administrators, and support staff to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Capacity to modify teaching strategies based on student needs, classroom dynamics, and feedback to ensure continuous improvement. Is capable of shifting from onsite to online delivery when needed
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Competence in designing and administering assessments to measure student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Commitment to Professional Growth: Dedication to continuous learning, attending professional development programs, and staying updated on best teaching practices

Education And Experience Requirements

  • With a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education or any related field
  • Valid Professional Teaching License (LET Passer)
  • One-year teaching experience (preferably Elementary) is an advantage
  • Fresh graduates are also accepted
