Job Description

Job Summary:

The position is primarily responsible for supporting the legal and compliance functions for BDO Life as follows:

Legal Function

This job assumes accountability in addressing legal risks and responding to the legal concerns of the Company through handling legal matters and specific cases as assigned. This incumbent also performs corporate secretarial and housekeeping functions, such as assisting the Department Head when necessary, in the holding of board/board committee meetings and keeping records thereof.

Compliance Function

This role is responsible for supporting the compliance function by ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, monitoring and coordinating with concerned officers for the implementation of the compliance program which includes the identification, monitoring and controlling of compliance risk. Particular focus is given to distribution compliance. He/She is also responsible for supporting the department head and business leadership in managing effectively the compliance requirements and risks by the Company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law; Member of the Bar
  • At least four (4) years in compliance, general corporate/banking law, labor law, obligations and contracts and insurance law.
  • Good understanding of legal and external regulatory policies and compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work onsite and be assigned in Makati
