Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Implements, maintains and monitors vision system capability, programs and hardware across Advantek sites to meet global manufacturing requirements. Alternate resource for SPC and Metrology roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determines, defines, prioritizes and implements improvements in capability, standard operating procedures, reporting and maintenance of in-line vision systems associated with finished goods inspection.

o Implementation of global vision system standardization across all Advantek carrier tape manufacturing plants.

o Facilitate continuous improvement projects.

o Monitoring of vision system effectiveness.

o Engagement to new product and processes for vision system requirements.

o Design new vision inspection application for new process and applications.

  • Ensures training materials and methods are in place, evolve as needed and implemented for in-line vision systems.

o Review, update and create documents related to vision system operation, set up, trainings and capability.

o Conduct training, orientation and awareness of new process, software and programs related to vision system set up, operation and capability globally.

  • Resolves both internal and external corrective action needs related to in-line vision systems.

o Verify and validate internal and external issues related to vision system.

o Formulate and implement short term and long term corrective actions to address issues related vision system.

  • Generates reports in regular basis on vision inspection detection globally. Engage with project engineering team for new processes that requires in-line and offline inspection.
  • Resource for customer compliance and issues related to the subject matter.
  • Provides inputs to innovate vision system to compete in the industry of carrier tapes inspection and manufacturing.
  • Supports SPC and Metrology processes.
  • Authority to release vision system for operation's use.
  • Participates in collegial planning for policies, procedures and systems, problem solving and performance monitoring through participation in standing and ad hoc committees, task forces and project teams.
  • Performs such other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane or related to and / or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Licensed BS Engineering Graduate in ElectricalElectronicsMechanical preferred or any competent engineering graduate.
  • Vision system and Automation.
  • Optics application and imaging.
  • Motor control, industrial Electrical.
  • Electronics.
  • Programming languages (VB, C++).
  • Mechanical 3D CAD software (Solidworks).
  • Computer hardware and Microsoft applications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality system.
  • Hands on experience with IATF16949 core tools application and PPAP compliance.

o SPC and MSA implementation, analysis and reporting.

o FMEA and Control Plan creation.

  • CMM programing and measurement applications.
  • None but with dotted responsibility and coordination regarding in-line vision system compliance to in-line vison technicians:

o Set up and programming skills.

o Effective implementation, maintenance and improvement.

  • Flexible working hours to accommodate required tasks from other Advantek sites.
  • Varied working conditions related to a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout Advantek sites.
  • Production environment - overseeing set up technicians.
  • Periods of time on computer monitors in office and production environments
  • Tool set up environment – machine shop safety, power and hand tools.
  • English as common language communication.
