A. Primary Functions
1. Acquires relevant information upon turnover on the following: defects encountered, corrective and preventive actions taken, actual operations and performance of the GF machineries and equipment during the preceding shift.
2. Reports promptly to his assigned shop to relieve the outgoing GF Technician.
3. Gets sample bottles from all cavities and inspects for possible defects and discusses immediately with GF Engineer for action plans to correct defects.
4. Weighs the sample bottles and adjusts appropriate feeder parameters to meet the desired weight and plots the weights on the MOR.
5. Replaces defective mold, finish equipment and other machine variables.
6. Assist GFS Technician in some major repairs and or removal of defective mechanisms.
7. Assist GF engineer in determining/troubleshooting bottle defects.
8. Swabs the cavity of the blank molds, bottom plate, neck rings, plunger and thimble in the established swabbing requirements in terms of manner of application, amount and interval.
9. Inspects the condition of the blank and blow molds, finish equipment prior to its installation and records it properly to Machine Operation Report (MOR) with the corresponding defects noted or reason for the replacement.
10. Documents in the MOR the following: mold and finish equipment changes, replacement of defective variables or mechanism, feeder or machine trouble, power failures, or any eventuality and other correction or corrective actions.
11. Checks the lubrication system of the following equipment to ensure efficient operation:
11.1 Feeder equipment
11.2 Gob distributor unit & parts
11.3 IS machine
11.4 Ware handling system
11.5 Annealing lehr drive system
12. Conducts ocular inspection of the following for possible abnormalities/misalignment and make necessary adjustments:
12.1 Shear blade tension, height, overlap, cutting condition
12.2 Feeder refractory plunger height and rotation
12.3 Volume and direction of the shear spray coolant
12.4 Gob loading into the scoop and to the blank mold
12.5 Electric drive motors of feeder, gob distributor, IS machine, ware handling and annealing lehr
12.6 Stock level of Biosol emulsion at day tank
12.7 Condition of air pressure gauge and air pressure gauges and air pressure required setting of:
12.7.1 Settle blow
12.7.2 Counter blow
12.7.3 Final blow
12.7.4 Plunger up / pressing
12.7.5 Air tank receiver
12.7.6 Feeder /shear air spring cylinder
13. Assists the GF Engineer in ensuring proper spacing of bottles at the conveyor and at the hot end.
14. Inspects mold and finish equipment upon delivery to ensure quality of spares.
15. Follows-up at cold end or at physical laboratory any dimensional defects encountered.
16. Performs activities that maybe assigned by immediate superior.
17. Complies/implement all practices related to Environmental, Safety and Health program of the company.
18. Participates in the different quality and productivity program like QC, WISE, etc
19. Performs other tasks assigned to him by his immediate superior.
B. Education
Preferably a graduate of Mechanical Technology, Technical/ Vocational Courses or a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
C. Working Experience and Skills Required
Must have undergone basic technician course
Must have taken Basic Glass Technology course
Must have undergone On the-Job- Training at Glass Forming Services
