Main activities and responsibilities:(including but not limited to)
Conduct all work in a safe manner and comply with all role specific HSE obligations.
Comply with WSP Quality System and Code of Ethics, coach on the identification and management of ethical issues associated with area of work or practice area.
Monitor and manage the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size, including leading/delivering packages on design projects.
Use your geophysical, data management and geological skills to contribute geophysical input to geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects across the sectors in which we operate.
Develop your geophysical and geological skills to contribute to geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects across the sectors in which we operate.
Develop and manage project geophysical databases.
Collate and quality check field data collected by project teams and incorporate into central project databases.
Undertake quality control and quality assurance processes to maintain project databases.
Review and quality check field data and incorporate in project databases.
Provide input for geophysical factual reports including analysis of field testing result to support interpretive reporting.
Support development of engineering geological ground models.
Promote a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
Deliver best client outcomes/options which have save the client costs/time.
Supervise, coordinate and review/evaluate activities carried out by less experienced staff
Mentor junior team members and actively participate in knowledge sharing activities.
Manage and monitor the technical quality of work performed by the team and promote a culture of technical excellence within the team.
Provide safety leadership in identifying and mitigating/eliminating high priority safety hazards.
Successfully develop and maintain strong relationships and networks with Lead County staff to promote use of the GCC
Geophysical capabilities and improve business and client outcomes.
Qualifications
Experience, Capabilities, and Qualifications:
Geology
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in:
Geophysics
Engineering; or
Engineering Geology
Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geophysics or Geology is highly regarded
Site-based Geophysics
Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of Structural Geology
Strong written and verbal skills
Background in Geotechnical core logging (preferred)
A keen interest in geotechnical engineering and geology.
Experience with Wellcad (preferred)
A track record in collecting and managing field data for small to large size geotechnical projects.
Experience geophysical/geological data analysis, database development and spatial information management would be beneficial.
Competent in monitoring and managing the scope (including variations) of multiple projects of varying complexity and size and guiding the work of others.
Proven ability in building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation.
Experience in supervising graduates and managing professionals, seniors, and associates in hybrid environments.
Demonstrated knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
Detail oriented and focused on delivering quality and technical excellence.
Understands and can manage competing demands of client delivery to timelines and budget.
Consciously seeks to provide constructive feedback demonstrating empathy and active listening skills.
