Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering.
- Certification: Licensed Geodetic Engineer
- Work Experience: At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in geodetic surveying, land measurement, and construction-related geospatial projects.
- Skills & Knowledge: Strong knowledge of geodetic and topographic survey methods, use of Total Station, and other survey equipment, including data processing and mapping software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D). Familiarity with construction plans, boundary establishment, and government survey standards.
- Location Requirement: Must be willing to work full-time on-site across different project locations.
Job Summary:
The Geodetic Engineer will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing maps and plans, and ensuring the accuracy of geospatial data to support construction and development projects. This role plays a key part in establishing boundaries, verifying land features, and providing precise measurements that are critical for project planning and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Inventory Management:
- Conduct geodetic and land surveys to determine property boundaries and topographic features.
- Use surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels to collect accurate field data.
- Plan and execute control point establishment, leveling, and alignment tasks required for project layouts.
2. Data Processing and Mapping:
- Process field data using specialized geospatial and CAD software.
- Prepare detailed survey maps, charts, and technical reports for use in engineering and construction projects.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of spatial data following project requirements.
3. Coordination and Technical Support:
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate survey data into project plans.
- Provide technical assistance and clarification during the design and construction phases.
- Assist in resolving site discrepancies by verifying measurements and conducting re-surveys if needed.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain organized records of survey reports, field notes, and project documentation.
- Prepare geodetic computations, legal descriptions, and other required technical documentation for submission.
5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with national and local laws, standards, and ethical practices.
- Implement quality control procedures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
- Stay updated with new surveying technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
