Job Description

Job Overview Summary:

The General Ledger Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This role supports month-end and year-end closing activities, prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts, and ensures compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience working in a fast-paced finance environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Validate AP invoices payable to growers that generate from supply chain

Run AP Invoice register to check and verify any AP invoices are booked properly by AP team and clarify for any unknown bookings

Validate / booking / approve ICV for fruit cost from various intercompany

Validate / booking / approve ICV for various billing from intercompany

Update Ocean Freight w/s for reconciling the payment made by Accounts Payable team & make accrual for those haven't been paid.

Issue / approve ICV for payment and transaction that made on behalf of other intercompany

Prepare liquidation for Chilean / Peru shipment

Check & validate the reports that generate from supply chain

Vessel Accounting

Prepare / approve journal voucher

Monthly work checklist relating to as follows:

i) Port Expenses

ii) Charter Hire & Cable & Entertainment Expenses

iii) Fuel Expenses

iv) Other Month end closing reports

v) Sales and Accounts Receivable reports (example: Aging Report, Sales reports etc)

vi) Accounts payable related reports

Monthly checklist for Planful reports

Required:

4-year College Degree (Accounting, Business or similar) from an accredited institution.

At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance positions

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Advanced data analysis skills (Power Query, Relational Database and Oracle SQL, Data Manipulation and Data Definition, MS SQL Server)

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Good organizational skills.

Excellent people, collaboration & teaming,

Strong presentation and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).

Well organized and able to multi-task.

Preferred:

Experience with Planful, SAP financials and related modules.
