The role
The
General Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. This role handles day-to-day accounting functions, supports financial reporting, and assists in month-end and year-end closing processes while maintaining strong internal controls.
Your Responsibilities
General Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded
- Prepare and post journal entries with accurate supporting documentation
- Perform regular account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts)
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate financial reports and schedules for management review
- Support variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of books during month-end and year-end
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
- Review and record invoices, payments, and collections as needed
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Ensure proper documentation and recording of all payables and receivables transactions
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation for audit purposes
- Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary schedules and reports
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 13 years of experience in general accounting or similar role
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and time management skills
