The role
We are seeking a highly skilled
General Accountant to take charge of general ledger functions, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and support compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is suited for professionals with extensive experience in PEZA manufacturing, accounting systems like SAP, and general accounting processes.
Your Responsibilities
- General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile general ledger accounts using SAP.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and post manual and recurring journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records in compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Account Reconciliations
- Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, including liabilities and company obligations.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve variances promptly.
- Coordinate and escalate reconciliation issues to the management as needed.
- Audit & Compliance
- Provide support during internal and external audits across assigned sites.
- Ensure adherence to SOX controls, corporate policies, and internal accounting procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all accounting transactions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process standardization, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Identify process gaps and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Local Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of PEZA reportorial requirements.
- Manage BIR compliance and other statutory reporting obligations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- At least 5 years of experience in general accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong background in PEZA-compliant manufacturing operations.
- In-depth understanding of BIR and other regulatory compliance.
- Previous experience in a shared services environment is preferred.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
