Primary Responsibilities & Expectations
- To assist in the planning, design, development and support of healthcare IT systems and projects in a team-based environment of software developers.
- To help create new applications and support them.
- To assist in supporting the current web based applications and databases.
- Maintenance of existing applications for bug fixes, issues and enhancements.
- Act as a liaison between the client and, subcontractors, industry, hospitals and federal partners.
- Works with the Information Security officers to ensure compliance with all IT Security policies and training, including HIPAA. Work to create and maintain a secure platform for all the client's data and applications.
- To foster an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.
- To enhance and maintain the registries by employing knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to plan, design, develop and support systems and projects
- To carry out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures
- To conduct research and analysis and present finding to the Applications Architect for review
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in software development or a related role
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Preferred Technical Skills
- Strong experience with .NET Core
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database design
- Experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core) and/or Dapper
- Front-end development experience using React and JavaScript
- Familiarity with ORM tools such as EF Core and Dapper
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cosmos DB) is a plus
- Prior experience in the healthcare domain is highly desirable
