Your Role:
As a Fuel Pricing Analyst, You Will
- Monitor fuel prices and market trends to stay informed about industry dynamics, competitor pricing strategies, and geopolitical factors affecting fuel prices.
- Analyze historical pricing data and sales trends to identify patterns, correlations, and opportunities for pricing optimization.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment of pricing strategies with business objectives and market conditions.
- Utilize pricing optimization tools and software to conduct scenario analyses, price simulations, and sensitivity analyses.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales volume, revenue, and overall business performance.
- Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate pricing insights, trends, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to assess the positioning of fuel prices relative to competitors.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve pricing processes, methodologies, and analytical capabilities.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- Proven experience in pricing analysis, revenue management, or related field within the oil industry (diesel, unleaded, and premium grades).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel, statistical analysis tools, and pricing optimization software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex pricing concepts.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred skills/expertise:
- Familiarity with fuel industry regulations, market dynamics, and supply chain management principles.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing separate pricing specializations (diesel vs unleaded/premium fuels) with potential interchangeability over time.
